Welcome to the Official City Site for your Treasure Coast Florida community, Sebastian. Perhaps best known as being 'Home of Pelican Island' America's First Wildlife Sanctuary located just off the coast of the incorporated city limits in the Indian River Lagoon, Sebastian is a rapidly growing community that offers a quality of life second to none for both residents and visitors alike. It is also currently home to nearly 20,000 residents, as well as numerous businesses expanding in the community.

One of the greatest assets of Sebastian are the men, women, and children that work, play, and serve the community through businesses, civic associations, health and educational institutions. Our expanding population assists our reputation as being a community full of friendly people working to retain its small town charm and character. The Office of the City Manager is pleased to assist in this very important effort by managing and directing the policies as adopted by your Mayor, Vice Mayor, and City Council, a budget of nearly $20 million, and a workforce of 182 full and part time employees. Our organization's commitment to excellence is exhibited through a recent adoption of the City's first official Mission Statement, including numerous strategies that build on excellent work already initiated, as well as recognition by the White House Millennium Council as a Millennium Community.

I would like to encourage you to review the FY 2007/2008 Budget. After reading it, I believe that you will find that the City of Sebastian is a progressive thinking municipality with an impeccable record of being conservative with tax dollars while concurrently implementing quality programs, projects, and services to the high expectations set by both the residents and the City Council.
