My daughter Aleah has been going to Baby-bees on Thursday mornings since before she could even crawl and now over a year later, it is one of her favorite activities of the week!  It is a wonderful opportunity for the babies to engage in free play and interact with each other and after a short time, the parents and caretakers are fast friends! In a community as small as Sebastian, you often find the same kids in different places throughout the week, but the baby-bees and tumbles bees classes at the community center really offers the advantage of an open air forum, real time to talk with other parents while your children roam around the room from one apparatice to another, but always remaining in your plain sight. I am so glad there is such a thing to go to every week, and now my daughter asks me about 3 times a week if we are going to tumble bees!

You asked for any suggestions to improve the programs or facilities at the community center.  

First of all I’m impressed by the diversity of the programs offered and your skills as an instructor.  Even more impressive is your management of the facilities.  The equipment provided is appropriate and in excellent condition.  Also appreciated is your professionalism in dealing with the public.

I’ve lived in Sebastian for three years and heard good things about the programs offered at the Community Center.  But... when driving past the center I was not impressed by the facilities and never stopped to check it out.  My mistake!  Don’t judge a book by the cover.

I want to tell you why I so appreciate your aerobics classes.  

For six months, my hip has been troubling me with nearly constant pain.  Chiropractic provided short-term relief.  In late January, I decided to try the aerobics, knowing that if my hip got worse, I could always quit.  To my surprise, my hip improved markedly and continues to remain better.  Too often, we think that pain is a signal to take a pill and sit around.  My experience proves just the opposite.  I am so grateful that these classes are available at a reasonable cost.

I just want to express my appreciation for the excellent program (i.e. group fitness, tai chi) offered by the City of Sebastian.  I am a snowbird from Canada and last year was looking for an exercise program to continue with my rehab for a fractured ankle.  The group fitness class and tai chi were just the ticket. The classes helped with my balance and range of motion and I have returned this year to continue with the excellent program!  Thanks Cathy!

My husband and I moved to Sebastian from Ohio 3 years ago.  One of the reasons we chose the city was because of all of the cultural and outdoor activities.  We have found the Community Center an incredible added bonus.  We love attending the activities there.  We are currently learning Tai Chi and we attend the daily exercise classes.

We have noticed when driving by the building, that there are many children outside running around the grassy area and the parking lot.  This occurs when the children’s activities, such as gymnastics, are going on.  There appears to be enough room in the grassy area to the side of the building for a small playground to be installed. I would think this would be a safer alternative to a child getting harmed from a car in the parking lot etc.

Because of Kathy, my husband and I have experienced improved health due to the terrific workout she puts us through. Our arthritis pain has diminished considerably and we have both experienced a needed weight loss.  

We are lovin’ it.

The benefits of attending Kathy Falzone’s classes at the Sebastian Community Center are too numerous to list! Having been a participant since 1991 I know whereof I speak!
Not only do we get the benefits of a better physical health but it’s a great lift socially.
Kathy is the best teacher ever!

JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED!

A heart issue resulted in my cardiologist telling me that I needed more than just walking I needed cardiovascular exercising.  Since then my aerobic class has kept me right where the ‘doc’ wants me.

Kathy is very motivating, and there are no ‘slouchers’ in her class. She is also a good inspiration to us, as she’s a grandmother too! In addition to all those good things, I have made so many new friends and met many more that are enjoying life as well.

So hats off to Kathy, the many classes she holds and her endless energy. I hope the city continues to keep this attention to good health available.

I love our senior aerobics class! Your energy and enthusiasm as well as knowledge of aerobic exercise is very inspiring to our group.  This isn’t just an exercise class, we share a real camaraderie and it is the best thing happening in Sebastian for ambitious senior citizens.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your wonderful group fitness classes at the community center.  As a breast cancer survivor (3 years), it has been instrumental in helping me to regain my strength and  stamina.  The classes have the right combination of challenge and fun which makes me look forward to going to classes rather than looking for excuses not to go.
