About the Program

Are you OK? (RUOK?) is a computer generated phone call to you at your residence on the days and time of your choice. You decide when you would like the computer to call you. At that prescribed time, you will receive a friendly message from us asking if you are okay.

All you have to do is arrange your daily routine to be sure you are close to your phone at the time of the scheduled call, and answer the phone call. If your phone line is busy or if there is no answer, the system will call back two more times. If there is still no answer, an alert will flash on the RUOK computer and a Sebastian Police Officer will be dispatched to your residence.

If you will be away from home, please let us know. The system can be programmed to stop calls for that period of time.

Please remember: The RUOK program is not an emergency call system. In case of an emergency, for a rapid response dial 911.

Applications are available at the Police Department Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm, excluding holidays, or contact our COPE Unit by email or at 772-589-5233, ext. 8550.
