After the Army he graduated from the State University of New York at Albany with a B.A. in Political Science and English.

He remained in the Army Reserves for several years and was activated for Operation Desert Storm. For the next decade, he worked in several different capacities which, along with his training in the Army, helped him develop a unique set of leadership and professional skills.

He started as a Child Protective Investigator and quickly rose through the ranks becoming a Supervisor at the Child Advocacy Center in Brevard County. In July 2008 Bob was promoted to Program Administrator for all Child Protective Investigations for Circuit 19; encompassing Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee Counties. In April 2013 Bob was promoted to DCF Community Development Administrator for Circuit 19.
