Biography
Bob was born in Brooklyn, New York where faith, family and a commitment to service were instilled in him at an early age by his parents. At eighteen, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician, rising to the rank of Sergeant. After the Army he graduated from the State University of New York at Albany with a B.A. in Political Science and English.
He remained in the Army Reserves for several years and was activated for Operation Desert Storm. For the next decade, he worked in several different capacities which, along with his training in the Army, helped him develop a unique set of leadership and professional skills.
In 2001, Bob began a career with the Florida Department of Children and Families. He started as a Child Protective Investigator and quickly rose through the ranks becoming a Supervisor at the Child Advocacy Center in Brevard County. In July 2008 Bob was promoted to Program Administrator for all Child Protective Investigations for Circuit 19; encompassing Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee Counties. In April 2013 Bob was promoted to DCF Community Development Administrator for Circuit 19.
Bob serves on many boards throughout the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee. He serves on the Executive Roundtables for Indian River, Okeechobee and St. Lucie Counties as well as the Shared Services Alliance of Okeechobee and the Treasure Coast. He is also a member of the Indian River County Children’s Services Advisory Committee and SAFIR(Substance Abuse Free Indian River). Bob has participated in the Senior Resource Association’s Senior Needs Assessment for Indian River County as well as the recently completed Children’s Needs Assessment and Kindergarten Collaborative Assessment for Indian River County. While on the Council, Bob has continued to advocate for child abuse and domestic violence awareness as well as foster care, adoption, and the Guardian Ad Litem program.
The McPartlans enjoy the family oriented atmosphere of Sebastian as well as all of the activities the beautiful riverfront has to offer.
