The City Council of the City of Sebastian, Indian River County, Florida, will hold the first reading of the ordinance listed below on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 followed by a subsequent public hearing to adopt the ordinance on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at approximately 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 1225 Main Street, Sebastian, Florida.
ORDINANCE NO. O-25-07
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 70 OF THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN CODE OF ORDINANCES: “OFFENSES AND MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS”, “TRESPASSING”; AMENDING SECTION 70-7 TO INCLUDE “PUBLIC CAMPING OR PUBLIC SLEEPING”; PROVIDING FOR FINDINGS, PURPOSE, INTENT AND DEFINITIONS; PROHIBITING PUBLIC CAMPING AND SLEEPING ON PUBLIC PROPERTY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR SCRIVENER’S ERRORS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Interested parties may inspect the proposed ordinance in the City Clerk’s office at City Hall, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and may appear at the hearing and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance.
No stenographic record by a certified court reporter will be made of the foregoing meeting. Any person who decides to appeal any decision made by the Council with respect to any matter considered at this meeting will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceeding is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be heard.
