Police Officer Salary & Benefits: 

  • Salary Range: $50,009.60 to $94,549.40 (Potential increase for experienced officers)

Non-Certified Police Recruit Salary & Benefits:

The salary is $31,200.00. Upon graduating from the Academy and successfully passing the State Exam, the salary will increase to $50,009.60.

The City will assist applicants in obtaining the necessary training to become a Police Officer for the City of Sebastian as follows:

  • The City will reimburse applicants for tuition expenses of the Law Enforcement Basic Recruit Academy (Academy) or the Equivalency of Training (EOT) and the Applicant’s State Law Enforcement Certification for a total up to $5,000.00.
  • Applicants will be hired on a full-time basis to include health benefits and paid $15.00 per hour while attending the Academy or being provided Field Training when not in class. Hours will not exceed eighty (80) hours in a fourteen (14) day work period.
  • The City will provide applicants the same personal days, sick and vacation leave accruals and City group insurance benefits as allowed for newly hired Police Officers. In addition, applicants will be outfitted with such specialized clothing and equipment as the City deems necessary.
