The 911 Center works around the clock everyday of the year and is staffed with full time 911 Operators. The 911 Center is the direct line of contact for anyone requesting any type of police service. Operators take calls for service from the public and other law enforcement agencies, then dispatch the appropriate police personnel, as well as equipment to handle the incidents and situations reported.
Operators also coordinate radio traffic between police units and serve as the officer’s "life line" in times of danger and emergency. They are trained to gather information from the caller in times of emergencies and are skilled with the ability to keep the situation under control while dispatching the information, always keeping our officers’ safety as their priority.
The 911 Operators are under the supervision of Gloria Brown.
The Records division is responsible for the maintenance and dissemination of all records in accordance with local, state, and federal laws, and department policies. Records personnel are also responsible for knowing and understanding the public record laws.
Services provided by this division are as follows:
- Conducting local background checks
- Managing the House Watch Program and House Watch Forms
- Processing Parking Violation fees
- Responding to public records requests in accordance with Florida Statute 119.
