Volunteers
The Community Service Volunteer Program is an extremely important and valuable asset to our agency. The services provided to the department and the residents of Sebastian are performed by dedicated and caring individuals.
Functions
The primary function of our Volunteers is to conduct residential security checks for our House Watch Program. This service is for all Sebastian residents and is provided for as little as a few days or up to 6 months or more. The residential security checks are completed in a very organized and consistent manner that would not be possible without our dedicated Volunteers. Responsibilities
The overall duties of our Volunteers include, but are not limited to, the House Watch Program, neighborhood patrol, traffic control, funeral escorts, courier services, and assisting at special City events. Their efforts greatly enhance the department’s ability to better serve the residents and business owners of this City.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be of good moral character.
- Must pass a background investigation.
- Must complete a drug screening and physical examination.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license.
- Must contribute a minimum of 4 hours per week.
- Must reside within a 20-mile radius of the City of Sebastian.
