From the City Manager
Welcome to the City of Sebastian’s Website. We believe that our community is the most unique along Florida’s Treasure Coast. Our waterfront district on the Indian River Lagoon is a reflection of Sebastian’s rich history as an "Old Florida Fishing Village." We are proud of our waterfront and are working hard to preserve our "little piece of paradise." Sebastian residents are equally proud of the services our local government provides and the way in which our community is governed in a cost effective, professional manner. Sebastian has a population just over 22,000 year-round residents, with a Council-Manager form of government and an award winning annual budget of approximately $25 Million.
One of the City’s many goals is to be transparent and "user friendly" That’s why you’ll find a tremendous amount of information on our website and it is extremely easy to use. For example, the City Clerk’s Home Page provides information regarding all government meetings, as well as other important City documents and contracts. You can view this information online via our laserfiche web link. As you will see, the City of Sebastian is committed to the highest standards in government service and reporting.
This website also features information about our community - from our elected officials to all of our City services. We strive to keep our residents informed about current Public Works capital projects and application forms for Building and Planning/Zoning issues are readily available. The City of Sebastian also boasts about our comprehensive parks and recreational services; including boat access to the waterfront, the splash pad, numerous playgrounds for children, athletic facilities, Skate Park, fitness trails and our popular dog park. Sebastian services also include an 18-hole championship golf course, municipal airport, accredited Police Department and our MIS staff, that helps keep this site running.
After reading about us, I know you’ll want to visit Sebastian and experience "Life on the Lagoon." On behalf of the Sebastian City Council and Staff - Thank you for visiting and feel free to contact us with any questions.
